SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 State and Transfer Rules
Candidates can apply against vacancies of one State/UT only. The candidature will be considered only against the State/UT selected in the application.
There is no Inter-Circle Transfer or Inter-State Transfer for Junior Associates recruited under this project. However, intra-state transfer between:
- Delhi Circle and Lucknow Circle in Uttar Pradesh; and
- Mumbai Metro Circle and Maharashtra Circle in Maharashtra
may be permitted subject to SBI’s applicable guidelines.
Candidates may appear for the examination at any notified examination centre, but the specified local language test, where required, will be conducted at a centre decided by SBI in the State applied for, at the candidate’s own expense. Merit lists will be prepared State-wise and category-wise, and selected candidates will be posted in the State for which they applied.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification
Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised university or an equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government.
Candidates holding an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2026.
Final-year/final-semester graduation candidates may also apply provisionally, provided they can produce proof of passing the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2026, if provisionally selected.
The date of passing will normally be the date appearing on the mark sheet, certificate or provisional certificate. Where the university posts the result online, SBI may accept a certificate from the appropriate university/institute authority confirming the date on which the result was posted.
Eligible matriculate Ex-Servicemen who possess the Indian Army Special Certificate of Education or corresponding Navy/Air Force certificate after at least 15 years of Armed Forces service may also apply, provided the certificate is dated on or before 31.12.2026.
OBC Eligibility
The OBC reservation is available only to candidates belonging to the Non-Creamy Layer.
OBC candidates must produce an OBC certificate in the Government of India prescribed format containing the Non-Creamy Layer clause. The certificate must be issued on or after 01.04.2026 and must remain acceptable up to the date of appointment.

The notification provides detailed provisions for Ex-Servicemen, Disabled Ex-Servicemen and dependents of servicemen killed in action.

SBI Junior Associate Recruitment 2026 Apprentice Bonus
Eligible trained SBI apprentices receive 2.5% of the maximum Main Examination marks, equivalent to 5 bonus marks out of 200.

Final Merit and Wait List

The SBI Junior Associate pay scale is:

The starting Basic Pay is ₹26,730, comprising ₹24,050 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates.
SBI states that the total starting emoluments for a clerical cadre employee posted in a metro such as Mumbai will be around ₹46,000 per month, including DA, other allowances at the prevailing rates and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate Junior Associates.
