Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

For all Trade Apprentice posts, candidates must have:

  • ITI Pass Certificate in the relevant trade, completed as a full‑time/regular course from a recognised institution.

Trade-wise requirement:

  • Fitter: ITI in Fitter.
  • Electrician: ITI in Electrician.
  • Electronics Mechanic: ITI in Electronics Mechanic.
  • Programming and Systems Administration Assistant (COPA): ITI in COPA/Computer Operator and Programming Assistant.
  • Turner: ITI in Turner.
  • Machinist: ITI in Machinist.
  • Welder: ITI in Welder.

Candidates who have CGPA instead of percentage must produce an official conversion certificate from their university/institute.
If no conversion is given, NPCIL will use the standard table given in the notification (for example, 60% is treated as 6.5 CGPA on a 10‑point scale).

Age Limit (as on 18.03.2026)

  • Minimum: 18 years.
  • Maximum: 24 years.

Age relaxation as per Government of India rules:

  • SC/ST: 5 years.
  • OBC (NCL): 3 years.
  • PwBD (General & EWS): 10 years.
  • PwBD (OBC‑NCL): 13 years.
  • PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years.

Physical Fitness

Physical fitness will be checked as per the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, with minimum standards as below:

  • Candidate should be free from contagious or infectious diseases and any condition likely to get worse due to work or endanger others; must be free from active or healed tuberculosis.
  • Minimum height: 137 cm.
  • Minimum weight: 25.4 kg.
  • Chest expansion: at least 3.8 cm, regardless of chest size.
  • No morbid condition of eyes or eyelids that can cause or worsen eye risk.

Shortlisted candidates must produce a medical fitness certificate issued by a Government‑registered medical practitioner at document verification.

PwBD – Identified Disabilities

The notification specifies which trades are suitable for which disability categories (minimum 40% disability).

Examples:

  • Fitter, Electrician: Deaf (D), Dumb (d), Deaf and Dumb (Dd), Low Vision (LV), One Leg (OL).

Selection Procedure

Selection of candidates is purely based on merit of ITI marks followed by document verification.

  • NPCIL will prepare a merit list using the percentage of marks obtained in the relevant ITI trade, based on details entered in the online application.
  • Only candidates providing complete and correct information in the online form will be shortlisted.
  • Final engagement will be after successful document verification and submission of a valid medical fitness certificate.

Tie‑breaking rules:

  • If two or more candidates have the same ITI percentage, the one older in age (earlier date of birth) will be placed higher.
  • If date of birth is also same, the candidate with higher percentage in 10th / 8th (for Welder, 8th) will be ranked higher.

Local preference:

  • Eligible local candidates residing within a 16 km radius of Rawatbhata Rajasthan Site, PO: Anushakti, Rawatbhata, will be given preference.

General Terms and Conditions

  • Candidates must submit the online application form correctly filled in all respects on or before 18.03.2026.
  • Candidates who have already undergone or are undergoing apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, 1961 in any Government/PSU/private organisation are not eligible.
  • Selected candidates will have to sign an Apprenticeship Contract with NPCIL before training begins and will not be allowed to withdraw from training except for uncontrollable reasons.
  • On completing training, apprentices must appear in the trade test conducted by the National Council for Training in Vocational Trades; Certificate of Proficiency is issued only on passing this test.

Employment:

  • Apprenticeship at NPCIL is purely for training under the Act. There is no obligation on NPCIL to offer employment after training and no obligation on apprentices to accept any job offer.

Candidature and disqualification:

  • Candidature remains provisional till verification of all certificates and testimonials.
  • The application or apprenticeship can be cancelled at any stage if the candidate provides false information/documents, hides relevant information, does not meet eligibility criteria, is found impersonating, or uploads non‑human or irrelevant photographs.

Other conditions:

  • Disputes, if any, will fall under the jurisdiction of courts in Rajasthan.
  • NPCIL management can change or cancel the number of seats in any trade or cancel the entire selection process without assigning reasons.
  • Management’s decision regarding eligibility, acceptance/rejection of applications, mode of selection and cancellation will be final and binding, and no correspondence will be entertained.

  • Training location: Rawatbhata Rajasthan Site, PO: Anushakti, Via: Kota, Rajasthan – 323303.
  • Duration: 1 year apprenticeship for all trades.
  • Stipend: ₹9,600 per month during training.
  • Hostel/transport: No hostel or transport facility will be provided; candidates must arrange their own accommodation and bear the cost of lodging and boarding during the entire apprenticeship.
