NTPC Limited has released Advertisement No. 14/24 for the recruitment of Engineering Executive Trainees (EET) – 2025 in multiple engineering disciplines through GATE 2025. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology / AMIE with at least 65% marks as per institute/university norms.
- For SC/ST/PwBD candidates, minimum marks required are 55%.
- Only specified degree branches are eligible for each discipline, for example:
- Electrical: Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation & Control, Power Systems & High Voltage, Power Electronics, Power Engineering.
- Mechanical: Mechanical, Production, Industrial Engg, Production & Industrial Engg, Thermal, Mechanical & Automation, Power Engineering.
- Electronics/Instrumentation: Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunication, Electronics & Power, Power Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Instrumentation, Electronics & Instrumentation, Instrumentation & Control, Electronics Instrumentation & Control.
- CS/IT: Computer Science, Information Technology.
Age Limit
- Upper age limit: 27 years as on the last date of online application.
Relaxations:
- SC/ST: +5 years
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): +3 years
- PwBD: +10 years (General/EWS), +13 years (OBC), +15 years (SC/ST)
- Ex-Servicemen (XSM): as per Government norms.
Only Indian nationals are eligible. All qualifications must be from AICTE / appropriate statutory authority-recognized institutions (AMIE valid only if enrolled up to 31.05.2013).
GATE 2025 Requirement
- Candidates must appear and qualify in GATE 2025 in the relevant paper.
- Only GATE 2025 scores are valid for this recruitment.

Selection Process
- GATE 2025 Performance
- Candidates applying to NTPC with valid GATE 2025 scores will be shortlisted based on GATE marks and organizational requirements.
- Document Verification
- Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of eligibility, documents, and certificates.
- Offer of Appointment
- Final offer is issued to candidates who meet all eligibility conditions and are found medically fit, subject to vacancies and NTPC’s requirements.
No separate written test or GD is indicated; the process is primarily GATE-score based plus verification and medical.
Compensation Package
- Pay Scale: ₹40,000 – 1,40,000 (E1 Grade).
- Basic Pay at joining: ₹40,000 per month.
- Additional benefits: Dearness Allowance, perquisites, allowances, and terminal benefits as per company rules, during training and after absorption.
Training, Posting & Service Bond
Training and Posting
- Selected candidates will undergo one year of training at various NTPC locations.
- After training, they can be posted anywhere in India, including NTPC projects/stations and subsidiary/JV companies.
- Roles generally involve shift operations of power plants, including night shifts; applying indicates consent to work in shifts.
Service Bond
- General/EWS/OBC: Service bond of ₹5,00,000.
- SC/ST/PwBD: Service bond of ₹2,50,000.
- Bond period: 3 years after successful completion of one-year training.
Reservations & Relaxations
- Reservations for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen as per Government of India rules.
- Category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) once declared in the online application cannot be changed later.
- Candidates must produce valid, latest certificates in prescribed formats; OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be valid for FY 2025–26.
- SC/ST/PwBD candidates are eligible with 55% marks in qualifying exam.
Health & Medical Standards
- Before joining, candidates must pass a medical examination conducted by the NTPC Medical Board.
- No relaxation in prescribed medical standards is allowed. Detailed norms are available on NTPC’s careers portal.
Application Fee
- General/EWS/OBC: ₹500 (non-refundable).
- SC/ST/PwBD/XSM & Female candidates: No application fee.
Payment Modes
- Offline:
- Pay at any SBI branch using a system-generated pay-in slip for a designated NTPC account; enter the Journal Number and Branch Code in the online form.
- Online:
- Pay via Net banking / Debit Card / Credit Card through the application portal.
Fee once paid is not refundable, so candidates should confirm eligibility before payment.

- Upload all required documents (Class X certificate, PAN, GATE 2025 scorecard, degree certificate, consolidated/final marksheet, conversion formula if needed, valid category certificates, recent photograph, etc.).
