Job Overview

Bata India is hiring a Finance Business Partner – Franchisee (FBP Franchisee) to manage financial governance, performance tracking, and business partnering for franchise operations. The role focuses on franchise P&L oversight, revenue assurance, settlements, compliance, and decision support, working closely with Operations, Retail, and Leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Franchisee Financial Governance & Close

• Own monthly financial close for Franchisee business
• Monitor sales, margins, franchise fees, royalties, discounts, and markdowns
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, GST treatment, cut-off controls, and GL hygiene
• Drive timely and accurate financial reporting to leadership

Performance Reporting & Analytics

• Track franchisee performance metrics including sales productivity, margins, and store KPIs
• Deliver variance analysis and actionable insights versus plan and prior periods
• Ensure data integrity and reconciliation between operational and finance systems
• Support MIS, dashboards, and performance packs for reviews

Business Partnering & Decision Support

• Act as a finance partner to Franchise Operations, Retail, and Commercial teams
• Support monthly reviews, projections, and decision-making
• Provide finance inputs for management presentations and leadership updates
• Partner on store-level profitability improvement initiatives

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

• Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for franchisee network
• Analyze cost drivers, margins, incentives, and operational efficiency
• Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with business plans

Audit, Compliance & Controls

• Support internal and external audits related to franchise operations
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory norms
• Own reconciliations for:
  • Franchisee balances
  • Discounts & incentives
  • Accruals and cut-off items
• Strengthen financial controls and governance

Franchisee Accounting & Settlements

• Manage franchise fee accounting, incentives, claims, and settlements
• Ensure timely reconciliation, credit note closure, and recovery follow-ups
• Support store opening / closure financials and final settlements

Systems, Process Improvement & Data Management

• Work with finance systems and reporting tools:
  • SAP
  • MSD / DMS
  • Tableau / Power BI
• Drive process standardization, automation, and reporting efficiency
• Partner with IT and stakeholders on system improvements

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of Franchise / Retail P&L
• Financial analysis, forecasting, and reconciliation expertise
• Advanced Excel skills
• Working knowledge of SAP, Tableau / Power BI
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• High ownership, attention to detail, and compliance orientation

Educational Qualification

• MBA (Finance) / CA or equivalent
