Job Overview

Bata India is hiring a Finance Business Partner – Retail (FBP Retail) to manage end-to-end financial governance, performance reporting, and business partnering for the Franchise business. The role is critical in P&L ownership, analytics, budgeting, audits, and strategic decision support, working closely with Operations, Marketing, and Leadership teams.

Key Responsibilities

Franchise Financial Close & Governance

• Own end-to-end monthly P&L close for Franchise business
• Manage turnover, expenses, royalty, discounts, and markdowns
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, GST treatment, cut-off controls, and GL hygiene
• Drive timely submission of final numbers to Business & Leadership teams

Performance Reporting & Analytics (MIP)

• Lead MIP reporting and franchise performance analytics
• Deliver insights on sales, margins, KPIs, and store evolution
• Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and master data accuracy
• Align analytics with final reported financials

Business Partnering & Decision Support

• Act as finance partner to Operations, Marketing, and Leadership
• Lead monthly P&L reviews, forecasts, KPI analysis, and variance explanations
• Support Board decks, PC/MBR, and leadership reviews

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

• Drive annual budgets and monthly forecasts for Franchise business
• Partner cross-functionally to analyze:
  • Operating costs
  • Margins & markdowns
  • Marketing spends
  • HR & supply chain costs
• Ensure alignment with Global Finance requirements

Audit, Compliance & Financial Controls

• Manage internal & external audits (Statutory, Retail, Franchise)
• Own reconciliations for:
  • Turnover
  • Customer balances
  • Discounts & accrued interest
  • Cut-off controls
• Strengthen financial controls and statutory compliance

Franchise Accounting & Settlements

• Oversee:
  • Franchise fee accounting
  • Interest amortization
  • Incentives & claims
  • Omni-channel commissions
• Ensure timely customer reconciliations, credit note closures, and recoveries
• Manage store closure financials and final settlements (FnF)

Systems, Process Improvement & Data Management

• Support finance systems & reporting automation:
  • SAP
  • MSD / DMS
  • Tableau / Power BI
• Drive process standardization, efficiency, and reporting accuracy
• Partner with IT on system enhancements

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of Retail / Franchise P&L
• Expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and reconciliation
• Advanced Excel skills
• Working knowledge of SAP, Tableau / Power BI, MSD
• Strong stakeholder management & influencing ability
• High ownership, detail orientation, and compliance mindset

Educational Qualification

• MBA (Finance) / CA or equivalent
