PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Overview
Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has released Advt. No. 03/2026 dated 03 September 2026 for PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026 for the post of Officer Grade ‘A’ (Assistant Manager) in the General, Research, Actuary and Official Language (Rajbhasha) streams.
PFRDA is a financial-sector regulator established under the PFRDA Act, 2013, with the mandate to promote, develop and regulate the pension sector in India. The recruitment notification provides for 30 vacancies across four streams.
The online application window is from 03 September 2026 to 24 September 2026. Phase I is scheduled for 15 October 2026, while Phase II is scheduled for 20 November 2026. The notification uses SC, ST, OBC, EWS, UR/GEN and PwBD terminology and specifies that OBC candidates belonging to the Creamy Layer are not entitled to OBC reservation and should indicate their category as UR/GEN.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
The recruitment is open to Indian citizens for Officer Grade A posts in the four advertised streams.
Age Limit
The maximum age is 30 years as on 31 July 2026.
According to the notification, a candidate must have been born on or after 01 August 1996.
Age Relaxation
The notification provides the following relaxations:
- SC/ST: Up to 5 years, where the posts are reserved for them.
- OBC: Up to 3 years for eligible OBC candidates where the posts are reserved.
- PwBD: 10 years, whether or not the post is reserved.
- PwBD-OBC: 13 years where vacancies are reserved for OBC candidates.
- PwBD-SC/ST: 15 years where vacancies are reserved for SC/ST candidates.
- Ex-servicemen: 5 years, subject to the conditions specified in the notification.
SC/ST/OBC candidates who are also covered by PwBD or Ex-servicemen categories may receive cumulative age relaxation as permitted under the notification.
Where no vacancy is reserved for a particular SC/ST/OBC/EWS category, candidates belonging to those categories may still apply if otherwise eligible, but the applicable reservation-based relaxation will not be available. SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-servicemen candidates remain exempt from the application fee in such circumstances.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Educational Qualification
The educational qualification is to be possessed as on 31 July 2026.
General Stream
Candidates must possess any one of the following:
- Master’s Degree/Post Graduate Diploma of minimum two years’ duration in any discipline; or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law; or
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized University; or
- ACA/FCA from ICAI; or
- ACS/FCS from ICSI; or
- ACMA/FCMA from ICMAI, erstwhile AICWA/FICWA from ICWAI; or
- CFA from CFA Institute.
The notification states that a postgraduate diploma should be equivalent to a Master’s Degree in the relevant discipline as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities.

Actuary Stream
Candidates must possess:
- Graduation from a recognized University/Institute; and
- Pass or exemption in all seven Core Principles subjects of the Institute of Actuaries of India (IAI) examination.
Official Language (Rajbhasha) Stream
Candidates must possess any one of the following:
- Master’s Degree in Hindi/Hindi Translation with English as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level; or
- Master’s Degree in Sanskrit/English/Economics/Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level; or
- Master’s Degree in both English and Hindi/Hindi Translation from a recognized University/Institute.
Other Educational Conditions
The degree must be from a recognized University/Institute established or recognized under the applicable Indian laws, or an equivalent foreign qualification recognized by the Association of Indian Universities/Government of India.
The date of passing the qualifying examination is determined from the mark sheet/provisional certificate, or, where applicable, the date on which the result was posted on the University/Institute website as certified by the competent authority.
Candidates who have appeared for the final qualifying examination and are awaiting results may participate in Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. However, joining will remain subject to production of documents proving the required qualification within the period specified by PFRDA. No extension will be permitted and the offer may be withdrawn if the qualification is not established.
Candidates are also expected to be computer literate and conversant with MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Multiple Stream Application Rule
Candidates can apply for a maximum of two streams, provided they are educationally eligible for both.
A separate online application and applicable fee must be submitted for each stream.
If a candidate:
- applies more than once for the same stream, or
- applies for more than two streams,
only the last application will be considered valid and the other applications will be rejected. The notification states that the fee paid for such rejected applications will not be refunded.
No change or correction, including category, will be permitted after final submission of the application.
Officers recruited through any stream may be assigned to any PFRDA department and may be posted in New Delhi or Mumbai. The notification also states that selected candidates may be required to serve anywhere in India according to the Authority’s requirements.

The selection process consists of three stages:

Paper 2 – Research, Actuary and Official Language Streams
For these streams, Paper 2 consists of 100 marks and 50 questions, with a duration of 40 minutes, covering the specialized subject related to the respective stream.
There is negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question in both Phase I papers.
Candidates must secure separate cut-offs in each paper as well as the aggregate cut-off. Phase I marks are used only for shortlisting for Phase II and are not counted towards final selection.
Phase II Online Examination
Phase II is scheduled for 20 November 2026.

Paper 2 – Research, Actuary and Official Language Streams

The paper covers the specialized subject of the relevant stream.
Negative marking of one-fourth of the marks assigned to the question applies to Paper 2 of Phase II.
Candidates must meet separate paper-wise and aggregate cut-offs.
Paper 1 of Phase II will be evaluated only for candidates who obtain the minimum qualifying marks in Paper 2. Candidates numbering up to five times the number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the interview in order of merit.
Except for the Test of English, question papers in Phase I and Phase II will be set bilingually in Hindi and English.
Phase III Interview
Only candidates shortlisted after Phase II will be called for the interview.
Candidates may opt for the interview in Hindi or English.
The final selection weightage is:
- Phase II Online Examination – 85%
- Phase III Interview – 15%
Phase I does not contribute to the final selection score.
The notification does not provide a fixed interview date. The date, time and venue will be communicated to shortlisted candidates through the interview call letter/email/SMS.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Salary Details
The Officer Grade A pay scale is:
₹62,500 – 3,600(4) – ₹76,900 – 4,050(7) – ₹1,05,250 – EB – 4,050(4) – ₹1,21,450 – 4,650(1) – ₹1,26,100
The scale extends over 17 years.

According to the notification, the present gross emoluments at the minimum of the scale are approximately ₹2,05,000 per month, including PFRDA’s contribution towards NPS and various allowances.

Phase I Centres
The notification lists centres across five zones.
East Zone: Kolkata, Patna, Guwahati, Bhubaneshwar, Ranchi, Imphal, Siliguri, Agartala, Muzaffarpur.
West Zone: Mumbai/Navi Mumbai/Thane/Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Surat/Bardoli, Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Jaipur, Pune, Hubli/Dharwad, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Nasik, Mapusa.

Candidates can give preferences for up to three Phase I centres and one Phase II centre. The choices may be different for the two phases.
PFRDA reserves the right to change, cancel or allot another examination centre based on administrative feasibility, candidate response or capacity. No request for change of centre, venue, date or session will be entertained. Candidates must bear their own travel, boarding and lodging expenses for examinations.
Candidates applying for two streams must select the same centres for Phase I and Phase II.

The notification directs candidates to visit the PFRDA website, open Careers, select the recruitment notification titled “PFRDA RECRUITMENT EXERCISE – RECRUITMENT OF OFFICER GRADE A (ASSISTANT MANAGER) – 2026”, and click Apply Online.

- Select Click Here for New Registration.
- Enter your name, contact details and email ID.
- Note the Provisional Registration Number and Password generated by the system.
- Verify the details using Save and Next.
- Enter the remaining application details.
- Upload photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwriting declaration.
- Preview and verify the complete application.
- Click Complete Registration after checking all details.
- Proceed to the Payment tab.
- Complete online fee payment.

Photograph Requirements
The notification requires:
- Recent passport-size colour photograph
- Size: 4.5 cm × 3.5 cm
- Light-coloured, preferably white, background
- Preferred dimensions: 200 × 230 pixels
- File size: 20 KB–50 KB
- Face clearly visible
- No cap, dark glasses or sunglasses
- Religious headwear is permitted provided it does not cover the face
Candidates must also capture and upload a live photograph using a webcam or mobile phone through the application system.
Signature, Thumb Impression and Handwriting Declaration
The signature must be made on white paper using black ink.
The left thumb impression must be on white paper using black or blue ink. If the candidate does not have a left thumb, the right thumb may be used.
The handwritten declaration must be written by the candidate in English, using black ink.
The notification provides the following declaration:
“I, (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
For visually impaired candidates who cannot write, the declaration may be typed and accompanied by the left-thumb impression as specified.
Preferred image dimensions for signature/thumb impression are 140 × 60 pixels. Signature and thumb-impression files should be 10 KB–20 KB, while the handwriting declaration should be 20 KB–50 KB. Capital-letter signatures/handwriting declarations are not accepted.
Scanned documents should be in JPG/JPEG format, with a scanner resolution of at least 200 dpi and True Colour.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Call Letter and ID Verification
Call letters will be available through the PFRDA website, with intimation sent by email/SMS.
Candidates will need their:
- Registration Number/Roll Number
- Password/Date of Birth
to download the call letter. A recent recognizable photograph matching the photograph submitted during registration must be affixed to the call letter.
Candidates must carry:

Accepted identification documents include PAN Card, Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID with photograph, Bank Passbook with photograph, specified official photo IDs, recognized College/University ID, Aadhaar/e-Aadhaar with photograph, Employee ID and Bar Council Identity Card with photograph.
Ration Card and Learner’s Licence are not accepted as valid ID proof.
The name on the call letter must exactly match the name on the photo ID. Candidates who have changed their name may need to produce the original Gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit, as applicable.
Late reporting is not permitted. Candidates may be required to report around two hours before the examination for verification and other formalities.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: PwBD Provisions and Scribe Facility
The notification covers PwBD categories under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Specified disabilities include:
- Blindness and Low Vision
- Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Locomotor Disability, including Cerebral Palsy, Leprosy Cured, Dwarfism, Acid Attack Victims and Muscular Dystrophy
- Autism
- Intellectual Disability
- Specific Learning Disability
- Mental Illness
- Multiple Disabilities, including deaf-blindness
A PwBD candidate generally needs at least 40% of the specified benchmark disability, subject to the applicable provisions.
Candidates claiming reservation must possess the prescribed disability certificate from the competent authority. The notification specifically requires a permanent disability certificate in the prescribed format for reservation benefits and states that certificates are subject to verification/re-verification.
Candidates with temporary disability conditions categorized as “likely to improve” are not eligible for reservation under the clarification cited in the notification. Where a temporary disability certificate does not specify the relevant nature of the disability, a fresh certificate may be required.
Scribe Facility
Visually impaired candidates and candidates whose writing speed is permanently affected may use their own scribe at their own cost, subject to Government of India rules.
The scribe:
- must satisfy the prescribed eligibility requirements;
- must belong to an academic stream different from that stipulated for the post;
- cannot act as scribe for another candidate;
- cannot himself/herself be a candidate for the same examination.
Candidate and scribe must submit the prescribed undertaking with the scribe’s passport-size photograph.
Candidates using a scribe are eligible for 20 minutes compensatory time for every hour of examination, or as otherwise advised.
The facility must be indicated in the online application; candidates who do not register for compensatory time may not subsequently be permitted to claim it.
Visually impaired candidates with at least 40% disability may also opt for magnified font and compensatory time.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Pre-Examination Training
PFRDA will arrange free online pre-examination training for:
- SC candidates
- ST candidates
- PwBD candidates
- OBC (NCL) candidates

The training will be online and communication will be in English/Hindi. Details will be communicated by email. PFRDA may cancel the training depending on response and administrative feasibility, and merely attending the training does not confer any right to selection.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: EWS and OBC Certificate Rules
EWS reservation is governed by the Government of India instructions cited in the notification.
EWS candidates must possess an Income and Asset Certificate valid for FY 2026–27, based on gross annual income for FY 2025–26.
The certificate should be issued on or after 01 April 2026 and before document verification at the Phase III interview.
Candidates must submit the certificate at the interview if called. No extension will be provided beyond the interview date.
For OBC reservation, only OBC Non-Creamy Layer candidates are eligible.
The OBC (NCL) certificate should be issued on or after 01 April 2026 and before document verification at the interview.
An OBC candidate who fails to produce the required certificate at the interview will not be permitted to appear for the interview, and the request to be considered under UR will not be entertained.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Important General Instructions
Candidates already working with Government/Quasi-Government organizations or Public Sector Banks/Undertakings must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their employer at the time of interview.
Before joining PFRDA, a proper discharge certificate from the employer must be produced, including settlement of any applicable bond.
Outstation candidates called for interview will be reimbursed single AC Three Tier return railway fare by the shortest route, subject to submission of the required documentary evidence.
Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
Any addendum, corrigendum or notice relating to this recruitment will be published only on the PFRDA website.
Any dispute arising from the advertisement or recruitment process will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts situated at New Delhi.
PFRDA Grade A Recruitment 2026: Exam Conduct and Misconduct Rules
Candidates must not:
- use unfair means;
- impersonate another person;
- misbehave in the examination/interview hall;
- disclose, reproduce or transmit examination content;
- use irregular or improper means;
- obtain support through unfair means;
- use mobile phones, pagers, smart watches, smart glasses, cameras, Bluetooth devices, pen drives or other prohibited electronic/communication equipment.
Violation can result in disqualification from the examination, debarment from future PFRDA examinations and, where applicable, termination of service after joining.
PFRDA may analyze candidate responses for suspicious patterns of similarity. If responses are found to have been shared and scores are considered invalid, candidature may be cancelled and the result withheld.
A candidate is allowed to appear only once in the online examination for a post. Multiple appearances can result in cancellation of candidature.
If examination administration problems occur, PFRDA may shift candidates to another centre or conduct another examination where necessary. The Authority’s decision will be final.
