About the Role
Bajaj Auto is hiring a Material Science – Paint/Surface Specialist responsible for evaluating, testing, and optimizing surface coating technologies used across automotive manufacturing processes. The role focuses on paint chemistry, powder coatings, surface treatments, and failure analysis to ensure consistent quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and implement surface coating technologies for automotive applications.
- Select, test, and validate paints, coatings, and surface treatment processes.
- Conduct performance testing on painted components and panels.
- Evaluate powder coatings, electro-plating, and hard-coating processes.
- Perform detailed failure investigation and recommend corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement, cost optimization, and quality initiatives across manufacturing functions.
- Coordinate with suppliers and travel to vendor locations as required.
Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Paint Technology, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Practical experience of 4 – 6 years in automotive paint processes, surface treatments, and coating technologies.
- Knowledge of powder coating, electro-plating, and industrial surface finishing methods.
- Strong capabilities in root-cause analysis and quality investigation.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
