Job Summary
The Manager – New Product Launch (NPL) will be responsible for end-to-end planning, execution, monitoring, and risk management of generic pharmaceutical product launches. The role sits within the Global Supply Chain (GSC) function and focuses on ensuring successful first-time launches, market extensions, second-wave launches, and relaunches across multiple dosage forms including topicals and injectables.
This position requires strong cross-functional coordination to ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and supply chain requirements while achieving launch timelines and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities (Paragraph Format)
As Manager – New Product Launch, you will lead end-to-end launch projects using structured project management frameworks such as the IMPULSE process, ensuring timely execution while proactively identifying bottlenecks related to resource constraints, technical challenges, or regulatory delays. You will conduct structured weekly cross-functional meetings with plant stakeholders to track progress, resolve constraints, and drive launch readiness.
You will act as a strong interface between markets and manufacturing, communicating market dynamics and aligning production schedules accordingly. The role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, R&D, regulatory affairs, procurement, marketing, supply chain, quality assurance, MSTG-Production teams, and PDD to ensure scale-up, characterization batches, commercial pack finalization, and launch batch execution are completed successfully.
You will coordinate with marketing and business development teams to review business cases, evaluate COGS feasibility, and provide monthly project updates on product readiness and launch timelines. Additionally, you will maintain and update launch calendars based on regulatory approvals, IP updates, and market requirements across US, EU, and emerging markets.
The role includes managing project budgets, identifying potential risks, and developing mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and within-budget delivery. You will prepare project charters, maintain management dashboards, ES&OP updates, launch trackers, and deliver structured presentations to senior leadership. Continuous improvement initiatives within the NPI process will also be part of your responsibility to enhance efficiency and execution excellence.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, or related field
- MBA or Master’s degree preferred
Experience Required
- 6–12 years of experience in:
- New Product Launch / Introduction
- Supply Chain Planning
- Pharmaceutical Project Management (Generics preferred)
- Experience in Topicals and Injectable dosage forms is desirable
