Job Overview

Adani Group is hiring a Junior Officer – ILHBS for airport aviation security operations at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati. The role focuses on baggage screening, threat detection, and compliance with aviation security regulations to ensure safe and efficient airport operations.

Key Responsibilities

Baggage Screening & Threat Detection

• Attend all mandatory regulatory trainings and clear assessments as required
• Operate X-BIS equipment for image analysis to detect dangerous goods, prohibited articles, weapons, or ammunition as per AVSEC guidelines and SOPs
• Perform physical baggage inspections and ETD tests for flagged items
• Maintain high TIP (Threat Image Projection) scores demonstrating strong image interpretation skills

Compliance with Aviation Security Directives

• Follow BCAS and DGCA regulations during baggage handling and inspection
• Record and document all screening activities to meet audit and inspection requirements

Equipment Checks & Maintenance

• Conduct routine pre-operational checks of X-BIS, ETD, CT-EDS, and other security equipment
• Report equipment malfunctions and maintain operational registers

Coordination & Stakeholder Interaction

• Work closely with CISF, airline staff, and supervisors during inspections
• Provide timely updates on operational issues or suspicious findings

Time Management & Workplace Conduct

• Complete screening activities within defined timelines without compromising safety
• Maintain professionalism, discipline, and adherence to organizational policies

Qualifications

Educational Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)

Certifications (Preferred / Required)

• TSA Certification (required)
• AVSEC Basic Course by BCAS (preferred)
• Inline / Standalone Screener Certification by BCAS
• DGR CAT-12 Certification (DGCA-approved training center)
• NCC “B” or “C” Certificate holders preferred

Work Experience

• Freshers or 1–2 years of experience in security screening or related field
• Prior airport or aviation security experience preferred

Physical & Medical Standards

• Vision: Minimum 20/60 (unaided) or 20/20 & 20/30 with corrective lenses
• Hearing loss less than 30 dB (below 2000 Hz)
• Clear speech and effective oral communication
• Ability to respond efficiently in crisis situations
• Adequate sense of smell
• High standards of deportment, appearance, and sobriety
