Job Overview
Mahindra & Mahindra is hiring a Deputy Manager – Tractor Assembly to lead and optimize tractor assembly operations at its Zaheerabad facility. The role focuses on improving productivity, controlling costs, enhancing quality, and ensuring timely delivery of production targets while fostering a high-performance team culture.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining assembly excellence and supporting new product introductions within the manufacturing ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
As Deputy Manager – Tractor Assembly, you will lead tractor assembly operations with a sharp focus on productivity enhancement and cost optimization. You will implement and monitor cost reduction initiatives targeting scrap reduction, consumables optimization, and manpower efficiency to ensure adherence to departmental budgets.
You will conduct detailed defect analysis and address market complaints by implementing corrective and preventive actions to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction. The role involves steering the assembly team to achieve excellence across key performance areas including Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale (PQCDSM).
You will ensure on-time tractor delivery aligned with production plans while synchronizing parts and components across different tractor models for seamless production flow. Cross-functional collaboration with supply chain, quality assurance, vendors, and other departments will be essential to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
The position also includes facilitating New Product Introduction (NPI) by coordinating mass production setup and ensuring smooth transition from development to full-scale manufacturing. You will organize worker training programs, manage daily manpower activities, resolve workforce issues, mentor team members, conduct performance reviews, and perform gap analysis to eliminate production inefficiencies, quality issues, and equipment breakdowns.
Education Qualification
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
- Additional certifications in Manufacturing Excellence, Quality Management, or Project Management are advantageous
General Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations
- Experience managing production teams with focus on productivity and quality improvement
- Proven exposure to cost control and budget management
- Experience in defect analysis and corrective action implementation
- Exposure to NPI and mass production scaling
