Job Description – Data Scientist III (Reinforcement Learning)

Shaadi.com is hiring a Data Scientist III to work on large-scale matchmaking and consumer data problems using machine learning, deep learning, and reinforcement learning techniques.

This role focuses on building custom models and algorithms that directly improve user experience, revenue growth, fraud detection, and intelligent matchmaking across millions of users globally.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with product teams to identify data-driven opportunities for innovation
• Preprocess and analyze large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
• Design and build custom ML models and algorithms from scratch
• Apply predictive modeling to improve:
  • Customer experience
  • Revenue optimization
  • User-to-user discovery and matchmaking
  • Fraud detection and prevention
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deploy models into production
• Build tools and processes to monitor model performance and data accuracy

Eligibility Criteria

Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in Data Science / Machine Learning
• Prior experience in consumer internet or B2C products preferred

Education

• Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or
• Relevant Data Science certification

Required Skills

• Strong expertise in Machine Learning and Deep Learning
• Experience with:
  • Recommender systems
  • NLP
  • User profiling
  • Image processing
  • Anomaly detection
• Programming skills in Python, R, SQL
• Hands-on experience with NumPy, Pandas, scikit-learn, Keras, TensorFlow (or similar)
• Strong statistical analysis and problem-solving skills
• Data visualization tools: Redshift, Tableau, Looker, or similar

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Big Data platforms: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Pig
• Exposure to BI tools such as Tableau or Looker
• Background in Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) or applied ML systems
