Job Overview

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is hiring a Steel Detailing Draftsman for its Heavy Civil Infrastructure business in Chennai. The role demands strong experience in steel detailing for infrastructure projects such as metro, bridges, precast structures, and launching girders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed drawings for steel structures used in infrastructure projects (especially metros).
• Execute 3D modeling with AutoCAD (3D experience is mandatory).
• Produce detailing for steel components:
  • Launching girders
  • Erection machines
  • Bridge builders
  • Steel trestles
  • Steel shutters
  • Steel moulds
  • Precast & in-situ formwork components
• Review technical drawings for accuracy and project alignment.
• Work with engineers, fabrication teams, and site teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Apply knowledge of steel connections, weld symbols, fabrication standards, and erection requirements.
• Coordinate with design and project teams for revisions and approval cycles.
• Maintain drafting standards, adhere to timelines, and support project documentation.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise

Essential Software Skills

• AutoCAD 2D – Required
• AutoCAD 3D – Mandatory
• Advanced Steel 3D – Preferred
• Any additional 3D modeling software – Advantage
