Job Overview

The Branch Manager is responsible for end-to-end management of a full-service bank branch, covering sales, operations, customer service, compliance, profitability, brand standards, and team development. The role focuses on driving business growth while ensuring regulatory compliance, superior customer experience, and efficient branch operations.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve branch targets for CASA, Term Deposits, Assets (Home, Auto, Personal Loans) and Fee Products (MF, Insurance, Gold, GI/LI)
  • Prepare and monitor annual sales plans (AOP) and monthly activity calendars
  • Increase market share within 3–5 km branch catchment
  • Ensure quality customer acquisition and minimum 3 products per customer within 90 days
  • Lead outbound/inbound sales execution, lead assignment, and closure
  • Monitor DSRs, productivity of BSMs/BOMs/JOs, and daily business generation

Customer Service Management

  • Manage key customer relationships and conduct 10 customer visits per week
  • Ensure zero critical requests, zero escalations, and high customer service scores
  • Maintain wait times within service standards
  • Conduct monthly customer engagement programs
  • Drive first-contact resolution and service excellence culture

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure strict adherence to RBI guidelines, internal policies, and audit requirements
  • Monitor daily operational, exception, TOD, and irregularity reports
  • Handle internal, RBI, and regulatory audits with timely closure of observations
  • Fraud prevention, KYC authorization, AML/EDD monitoring
  • Maintain branch registers, security keys, lockers, and physical verifications

Branch Profitability

  • Drive Net Interest Income (NII) and fee income growth
  • Optimize branch Opex and manage cash holdings
  • Increase CASA, deposits, loan disbursements, and third-party product penetration

Brand & Administration

  • Ensure branch branding, hygiene, and infrastructure as per bank guidelines
  • Monitor branch appearance, ATM upkeep, signage, and equipment functionality
  • Maintain professional grooming and workplace discipline

Team & Capability Building

  • Team mentoring, training, and manpower planning
  • Job rotation every six months and onboarding support for new joiners
  • Conduct workshops, certifications (AMFI, IRDA), and mandatory e-learning
  • Provide structured performance feedback and support employee engagement

Performance Indicators

  • Retail P&L: NII & Fee Income achievement
  • CASA, TD growth and quality balances
  • Loan disbursement targets (Home, Auto, Personal Loans)
  • Customer service scores and audit compliance ratings
