Birla Cellulosic is a Green Field Project of Grasim Industries Ltd., conceptualised in 1994 and fully commissioned in 1998. The unit:

  • Has an installed capacity of around 350 TPD of Viscose Staple Fibre (VSF).

  • Is a modern viscose staple fibre manufacturing unit with four streams, including:

    • 90 TPD Viscose Staple Fibre line

    • 75 TPD Carbon di Sulphide (CS2) plant

    • 200 TPD Sulphuric Acid plant

    • 2 x 15 MW Thermal Power Plant

    • Auxiliary plants like Water Treatment, Demineralisation and Effluent Treatment plants

The viscose fibre produced here is branded as Birla Viscose, known for its feel, comfort, fashion appeal and environmental friendliness in the textile-grade viscose fibre segment.
