💼 About the Role
Nokia is seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Embedded Linux with strong expertise in software architecture design, xPON ONT system development, and L2/L3 forwarding software.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in ARM/MIPS architectures, embedded Linux kernel programming, board bring-up, and peripheral integration. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, customer-centric features.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔍 Solution Analysis & Design
- Analyze customer use cases, network topology, and service requirements
- Design and document feature architectures and specifications
- Ensure solutions align with customer and product expectations
🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with product architects, PLMs, and test engineers
- Ensure seamless feature delivery and issue resolution
🧩 Development & Integration
- Develop and integrate xPON ONT end-to-end environments
- Contribute to process refinement and product enhancement
- Troubleshoot embedded environments and improve system performance
📚 Continuous Learning & Quality
- Explore new protocols and technologies
- Apply industry best practices in quality process management
- Deliver stable, scalable, and high-performance solutions
🛠 Required Skills & Experience
✅ Must Have
- 2–5 years of experience in Embedded Linux development
- Strong knowledge of L2/L3 forwarding
- Strong programming skills in C & C++
- Hands-on experience with any one SoC: BCM, RealTek, Cortina, Qualcomm, or MTK
- Debugging expertise using GDB, Valgrind, Coverity
- Experience with configuration management tools: Git, SVN, ClearCase
- Strong cross-team collaboration skills
⭐ Good to Have
- Knowledge of xPON ONT systems
- Experience with Ethernet PHY, USB, SPI-NOR flash, CAN protocol
- Familiarity with OpenWRT and Yocto build systems
- Low-level driver development (SLIC audio chips, NAND flash, USB power management)
