Job Description
As a Senior Engineer – PF Process (Cement Mill) in the Cement division, you will play a key role in optimizing the cement mill’s performance to ensure production, quality, and operational targets are met. You will be responsible for monitoring milling parameters, improving process efficiency, and supporting process improvements while ensuring cost and energy-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will maximize productivity by ensuring smooth and continuous operation of the cement mill and maintaining product quality standards. You will closely monitor power consumption and implement corrective actions to reduce operational costs. You will drive implementation of preventive maintenance (PM) checklists and take proactive measures to resolve breakdowns using analytical tools like why-why analysis and PM analysis. You will oversee calibration of weigh feeders and ensure proper changeover of cement grades as per production requirements. Additionally, you will identify areas for improvement, execute modification proposals, monitor process flows and abnormal conditions, and lead co-ordination with maintenance teams to improve equipment uptime. You will also support cross-functional requirements such as SHE compliance, IMS system implementation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for productivity, safety, and sustainability.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Industrial / Production Engineering or equivalent.
Experience:
- Relevant experience in cement manufacturing or process engineering. (Typically 5+ years; actual requirement inferred from role level.)
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of PF process, cement mill operations, and production optimization.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to implement preventive maintenance and cost control measures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
