Job Purpose

The Junior Officer – Packing will monitor and execute shift-wise packing activities while ensuring compliance with cGMP and safety norms to achieve production targets. The role focuses on efficient resource utilization, regulatory compliance, documentation accuracy, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

1️⃣ Shift Operations & Production Targets

  • Execute packing activities during shifts by managing resources efficiently.
  • Reduce machine micro-stoppages to achieve shift production targets.
  • Optimize usage of consumables to control costs.

2️⃣ Compliance & Documentation

  • Review packing documentation and monitor parameters as per BPR requirements.
  • Monitor critical in-process parameters such as NFD, camera challenge, RH temperature, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP and safety norms.
  • Maintain system integrity through timely online documentation updates.
  • Perform equipment qualification and calibration as per schedule.

3️⃣ Records & SAP Documentation

  • Prepare manufacturing records to meet cGMP requirements.
  • Maintain timely entries in BPR and supporting documents using SAP and CipDox.
  • Prepare new documents and update existing documentation as per GMP norms.

4️⃣ Safety & Compliance

  • Monitor adherence to safety guidelines during shifts.
  • Report near-miss incidents to HSE department.
  • Ensure availability and proper usage of PPE.
  • Ensure compliance with safety training targets.

5️⃣ Training & Team Development

  • Train staff and workmen on packing processes and safety procedures.
  • Conduct sessions on equipment handling, documentation, and cGMP compliance.

6️⃣ Continuous Improvement

  • Suggest process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve productivity.
  • Simplify documentation processes to comply with ALCOA principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate).

Major Challenges

  • Achieving shift targets with limited resources.
  • Maintaining cGMP compliance during system downtime.

  • Handle approx. 200 BPRs and packing batches annually

  • Zero reportable accidents during packing activities
  • 0% documentation errors
  • 100% compliance to SOP and safety regulations

Key Decisions

  • Shift resource allocation and workload distribution
  • Equipment modifications and facility upgrades (with Section Head approval)
  • Implementation of CAPAs and deviation management

Eligibility Criteria

Education: B.Pharm / B.Sc (Chemistry)
Experience: 1–5 years in pharmaceutical packing operations with knowledge of QMS activities, equipment qualification, and documentation handling
