Role: Deputy Manager – HR Operations

Axis Max Life Insurance is seeking a skilled Deputy Manager – HR Operations responsible for Payroll and Full & Final Settlement for large employee volumes. The role demands high accuracy, compliance expertise, stakeholder collaboration, and strong analytical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Axis Max Life Insurance is hiring a skilled Deputy Manager – HR Operations to manage large-scale payroll, F&F settlements, and HR compliance processes. In this role, you will oversee payroll for 40,000+ employees, process 1,500+ monthly Full & Final settlements, and ensure seamless compliance with PF, ESIC, LWF, Professional Tax, and Gratuity regulations. You will collaborate with cross-functional HR teams, lead payroll vendor management, support audit closures, and maintain strong HR governance. The role requires expertise in Advanced Excel, HR analytics, payroll systems, and team leadership. As part of the Gurugram HO team, the Deputy Manager will also drive process improvement through digitization, automation, and policy updates, while preparing and publishing key HR dashboards. Candidates with 4–6 years of experience in HR Operations, especially in large enterprises, are preferred. Qualifications & Attributes

Education

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration or Human Resources (preferred).

Experience

  • 4–6 years of HR Operations experience in corporate environments.
  • Experience managing payroll for large enterprises (5,000+ employees).
  • Proven handling of exits, F&F, and statutory compliances.
  • Prior team management experience is required.

Must-Have Skills

  • Advanced MS Excel
  • Statistical & quantitative analysis ability
  • Strong mathematical interpretation skills
  • Candidates rating themselves “average” in these skills should NOT apply.

Language Skills

  • Strong written & spoken English communication
  • Ability to draft professional HR documents
