R&D Specialist

Job Overview

Nokia is hiring an R&D Specialist for its Product & Engineering.
This role focuses on designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining next-generation Subscriber Data Management solutions. The team works with advanced cloud-native technologies, key telecom protocols, and high-performance distributed systems.

You will contribute to feature analysis, development, scripting, verification, customer issue resolution, and continuous R&D efficiency improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Feature Development & Delivery

• End-to-end realization of Register features: analysis, development, scripting, verification.
• Deliver enhancements, change requests, and customer issue fixes.
• Manage feature delivery and associated maintenance tasks.

Quality Ownership

• Ensure high-quality product deliverables, meeting project-level SLAs and quality KPIs.
• Perform module testing, unit testing, functional validation, and debugging.
• Contribute to product robustness, performance optimization, and system reliability.

Innovation & Team Contribution

• Demonstrate independence in problem-solving and propose innovative ideas.
• Support R&D productivity improvements and automation efforts.
• Gain and apply deep understanding of core telecom product performance aspects.

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in functional testing with Python/ROBOT scripting
  OR hands-on development experience in Advanced C++ with strong design pattern expertise.
• Solid knowledge of:
  • Analysis, design, development, module/unit/functional testing
  • Debugging and memory profiling tools
• Strong protocol/domain knowledge of:
  • SS7, Diameter, HTTP/2
• Exposure to Cloud-Native Technologies including Kubernetes.

Nice-to-Have

• 3G/4G/5G Core network knowledge (HLR, HSS, UDM, EIR).
• Understanding of 3GPP telecom standards.
