Job Overview

Bata India Limited, one of India’s largest footwear manufacturers and retail networks, is looking for an FBP Retail Professional (Finance Business Partner) at its Gurgaon corporate office. This strategic finance role supports the retail franchise business by driving financial governance, performance reporting, forecasting, and business partner relationships with cross-functional teams.

Bata India has a strong legacy in footwear and fashion retail since 1931 and operates a nationwide retail network with over 1,375 stores, supported by a broad distribution ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end monthly P&L close for the Franchise business, ensuring accuracy in turnover, expenses, royalties, discounts, and markdowns.
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition, cut-off controls, and GL hygiene per internal and statutory guidelines.
• Lead performance reporting and analytics, delivering insights on sales, margins, KPIs, and store evolution metrics.
• Act as a finance business partner to operations, marketing, and leadership teams on financial planning and decision support.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning for the franchise segment, aligned with global requirements.
• Manage internal and external audits, reconciliations, and compliance controls for retail financials.
• Oversee franchise settlements, incentives, commissions, and accounting reconciliations.
• Support systems integration, reporting automation, and process improvements in finance tools (e.g., SAP, Tableau).

Skills & Qualifications (Typical for Role)

• Strong understanding of retail finance, P&L governance, and reporting.
• Financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting expertise.
• Proficiency in Excel and BI/analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, SAP).
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Degree in Finance, Commerce, or MBA (Finance) preferred.
